In a tweet, he said, “Be Fr, would y’all be mad at me if I thought I was a little bisexual.” his tweet amassed more than two hundred thousand likes before the singer concluded with another tweet suggesting that it was the last time he was coming out.
Lil Nas X admits that coming out as gay was not an easy decision but he had to do it anyway. “There was definitely some fear there.
“I know the people who listen to this the most, and they’re not accepting of homosexuality,” he said.
And yet, something changed during the Pride Month of 2019 that eventually had him take the bold leap into the light as a gay man. And I want a big farm with animals, and I just want all of it," he added.
Lil Nas X's words come after the singer shared his steamy single cover for his song "Need Dat Boy." The picture shows Lil Nas X and another man in the backseat of a vehicle as they share a passionate kiss while both shirtless.

Before Becoming Famous, Lil Nas X Wanted To Hide That He Was Gay
Summary
Lil Nas X's decision to come out as gay was a pivotal moment for him, as he wanted to represent the LGBT community and be openly himself.
That is to say that the only person he appears to have been publicly linked with to date is Yai Ariza, who graced his presence in his That’s What I Want music video in 2021. And yet, he has bravely moved on and come a long way since then, being extremely private about his dating life otherwise.
The very first time he came out, though, was to his father and sister earlier in June 2019, before he broke the news on Twitter weeks later.
There’ll be somebody, and I’ll say, ‘Okay, I want to make this person a priority.”
Until then, guess he’ll just make do with “maybe kiss[ing] a guy every blue moon,” as he once said in his interview with Andy Cohen on his Sirius XM show!
Lil Nas X Didn’t Initially Plan to Come Out
Though he eventually did, it wasn’t initially on Lil Nas X’s bucket list to come out as queer publicly.
Is it something that I was considering never doing ever; like taking to the grave or something? But he did clear this out within a few days as, during an appearance on the BBC Breakfast show in July 2019, he confirmed he’s gay, saying (via The Media Network),
I am gay. The 'Old Town Road' singer has admitted that before finding international fame, he wanted to hide his sexuality.
“The honest truth is, I planned to die with the secret,” the singer whose real name is Montero Lamar Hill told The Guardian.
And I love to do that. As he shared his experience with Time,
I never would have done that if I wasn’t in a way pushed by the universe. Despite Nas being comfortable today, many young boys are afraid of coming out and he would be their example.
Therefore, it is easy to conclude, based on evidence that Lil Nas X is gay, and also partially identifies as bisexual.

His other previous relationships currently remain unknown to the public eye.
During the 2021 BET Awards, Hill and Ariza famously locked lips with each other onstage, with fans speculating that they were in a romantic relationship. I’m already like the number one artist in the world right now,” he explained in the interview.
As he continued to become popular, Nas took to social media to respond to the questions that he had received about his sexuality.
He enjoys a wide variety of movie genres from thought provoking dramas to action-packed blockbusters. In an interview with CBS, Lil Nas X said he decided to come out when the attention was on him because it “would’ve been the most authentic time”.
“It’s like, I’m not doing it for attention,” he explained about coming out when 'Old Town Road' was at the peak of its popularity.
And I’m more in love with what I’m doing than people.
Continuing to candidly shed his thoughts on what he felt dating looked like for him, going forward, at the time, the Grammy award-winning star spoke more in-depth, saying,
I feel I still want to hang out with guys every now and then.
the agenda to make people stay the f–k out of other people’s lives and stop dictating who they should be. "We still have a long way to go, because it's not like everybody is messing with me now. How big of a deal is that?
During it, he was asked what his favorite sexual position was and what type of guy he was into. The next day, he further cemented this thought with a follow-up tweet that read, “that was my last time coming out the closet i promise”.
But that was, of course, not really the case as, almost eleven months later, he once again took to his X handle on November 29, 2023, to write,
not gonna lie i wanted to reinvent myself for this next era but sadly im still gay
What’s worth noting is that, while he came out as a part of the LGBTQ+ community, Hill originally only suggested that he’s gay, i.e., he didn’t actually say the word ‘gay’ while coming out.
“I’m already like the number one artist in the world right now.”
Lil Nas X has acknowledged that his fame has made it easier for him to come out.
